To Be Careful

“Be careful, please” has become a top phrase in our household.

With two boys, a two year old and a six month old, saying those three words give us the illusion of safety.

What I mean by that is, being careful will only get one so far.

Accidents are bound to happen, mistakes are meant to be made.

When I speak those words over my son, he is learning the limits of his wild child tendencies.

One thing I recently noticed, he does not allow this phrase to stop him, but instead it gives him the opportunity to learn a new way of doing something, or learn the consequences of unruly behavior.

This brought me to the question, when did this phrase “be careful” turn into “live in fear”?

While we need to be wise, we cannot allow fear or anxiety stop us from exploring. And living out the greatest adventures life has to offer.

The greatest lessons learned are those that push us past our comfort zones and test the solidity of our foundation.

I can no longer allow being careful to create unreasonable fear.

I dare you to be careful not to allow this phrase to lead you into a fear-driven life.

  1. What this makes me think of to is our Christian liberty and walking in wisdom and worthy of our calling and the balance of being careful or being legalistic and living in fear of “do nit touch do nit taste” etc. This has been part of my journey as Gods wild child 😆 The word will guide us bitbwe dont have to be terrorized by the law but simply reverance God and if we abide in him and His word abides in us He will prune us and we will bare fruit ☺
